After Your QHHT® Session: The First 21 Days
Updated: Oct 7
Most of what people read about QHHT® (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, by Dolores Cannon) focuses on the session itself. But in Lili Ou's experience, some of the most meaningful work happens afterwards, in the days and weeks when what surfaced begins to settle into ordinary life.
This is what Lili Ou shares with clients about that period.
How will I feel when the session ends?
When the session ends, you are fully awake and aware. Most people feel deeply peaceful and relaxed. Some feel energised. Others simply want to rest. All of these are natural.
Many clients also tell Lili Ou they feel remarkably warm when they wake. It is one more reason she asks you to keep the evening free, with no dinner plans, flights or calls. Give yourself space to stay with the experience, and to rest.
Is it normal to feel tired in the week after a session?
Yes. In the first week after a session, some clients report feeling sleepier than usual, having a mild headache, or feeling more thirsty. When this happens, it tends to ease gradually over the following days.
The best response is simple: rest more, sleep when your body asks for it, and drink plenty of water. Try not to fill that first week with a demanding schedule if you can avoid it.
If anything feels severe, or does not ease with rest, please check in with a doctor.
What should I do with my recording?
The hypnosis portion of your session is recorded and given to you. It is one of the most valuable things you take home.
Lili Ou's recommendation: listen for 10 to 30 minutes a day during the first 21 days. You don't need to listen to it all at once, and you don't need to analyse it. Regular listening helps your conscious and subconscious mind integrate the experience, so the insights settle into daily life rather than remaining a memory of one day.
Please only listen somewhere safe and quiet. Never listen while driving or operating machinery.
What should I pay attention to in the weeks that follow?
Stay aware. In the days after a session, many people notice:
Synchronicities. Meaningful coincidences, a conversation, a book, a chance encounter, that seem to echo what came up in the session.
Changes in their dreams. Dreams may become more vivid, or carry themes from the session.
Small intuitive nudges. A quiet sense of what to do next, or what to let go of.
Pay attention, too, to the thoughts and feelings that arise while you listen to your recording. They are often exactly the insight you need at that moment.
There is no need to force any of this. Simply notice, and perhaps write down what you notice.
What if nothing seems to change?
Change after QHHT® rarely looks the way people imagine beforehand. A session does not work on your outer circumstances directly. It changes how you see, and the outer changes follow in their own time.
Some insights make sense immediately. Others don't. Many of Lili Ou's clients tell her it was one year, two years, or even longer before they fully understood something they received in their session. It became clear in an ordinary moment, when life gave them the context to recognise it.
So if the first weeks feel quiet, that is not a sign that nothing happened. It may simply mean the meaning is still unfolding.
Is it normal for difficult feelings to come up?
A session can bring things into view that were previously out of sight. For some people, that includes emotions or memories that ask for attention in the weeks afterwards. Be gentle with yourself, allow what arises, and give it time.
QHHT® is not a substitute for medical or psychological care. If anything that surfaces feels difficult to hold on your own, please reach out to a qualified professional. Seeking support is part of taking care of yourself.
Who is responsible for what happens next?
You are, and that is good news.
Lili Ou often describes QHHT® as a handrail: something steady to hold at a particular stage of your journey, a way to regain clarity. But the handrail does not walk the stairs for you. Every insight in your session came from you, and the power to act on it is yours.
In keeping with Dolores Cannon's teaching, each session is approached as both the first and the last. The 21 days after your session are where that single day starts to become part of your life.
In short
Keep the evening after your session free, and rest.
You may notice some sleepiness, a mild headache or extra thirst in the first week. Rest and drink water; it eases gradually.
Listen to your recording for 10 to 30 minutes a day for 21 days, somewhere safe and quiet.
Notice synchronicities, dreams and intuitive nudges, without forcing them.
Give the meaning time. Some of it will unfold over months or years.
Be gentle with yourself, and seek professional support if you need it.
