How to Prepare for Your QHHT® Session: A Practitioner's Guide
In keeping with Dolores Cannon's teaching, my hope for every client is that this will be the only QHHT® session they need in this lifetime. A single day, done well, can be enough. How you arrive shapes what you receive, so this is the guide I share with every client before their session, adapted here for anyone considering QHHT®.
What actually happens in a QHHT® session?
In QHHT® (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, by Dolores Cannon), you are guided into a deep, relaxed Theta brainwave state in which you connect with what Dolores called the Subconscious — also known as the Higher Self or Oversoul. It is the part of you that already holds the knowledge of your life.
Three principles shape everything that follows:
Trust over intervention. QHHT® does not reprogram beliefs or implant suggestions. The practitioner is a guide and a guardian, holding the space for your Subconscious to reveal what you are most ready to receive right now. Every insight comes from within you.
Present-day purpose. Many clients experience vivid past-life narratives. They are not the goal in themselves. They act as mirrors, helping you understand the deeper patterns in the life you are living today.
One session, not a series. QHHT® is designed as a complete experience. The steps forward afterwards are yours to take.
How long is a QHHT® session?
Plan for 7 hours or more, in one sitting. The day begins with a long conversation in which we go through your life and your questions in detail, before the hypnosis itself.
Please set aside the entire day. Avoid social plans in the evening, so you can stay with the experience without distraction.
How should I prepare my mind in the days before?
Set a clear intention. Clarify the core issues you want to explore. Some clients find it helpful to repeat a simple intention such as: "I intend to establish clear, direct communication with my Subconscious and receive insights that serve my highest good."
Release your expectations. This is where the Taoist principle of Wu Wei — effortless non-attachment — helps. Let go of fixed ideas about what should happen or how. Your Subconscious gives you what you need and can handle at this moment. As the Tao Te Ching suggests, the further one goes outward, the less one knows. Turn inward, and the answers emerge in their own time.
See the session as a look at your life script. I often describe a life as a flexible framework, with core themes and milestones, within which we still make our own choices. A QHHT® session gives you the chance to see that framework from a higher vantage point, and to make your next choices from there.
How many questions should I bring?
Write down the questions you want to explore, and keep the list focused: no more than 10, and around 5 is ideal. Fewer questions allow us to go deeper into each one.
Make the questions about you. People bring questions about life purpose, relationship patterns, their health and wellbeing, spiritual blocks, or something they have wondered about since childhood.
Bring a written copy on the day. We go through it carefully during the conversation before the hypnosis.
How should I prepare physically?
Sleep well the night before. Hypnosis is a highly focused, waking state. A rested mind follows the guidance far more easily than a tired one.
Eat light in the days before. Choose fresh, simple food, and avoid heavy, greasy or highly processed meals.
Drink plenty of water before and after the session.
No alcohol the day before, and no coffee or other caffeine on the day of your session. Please avoid smoking on the day as well.
Dress for deep relaxation. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring socks and a light sweater, as body temperature often drops during deep relaxation.
Don't worry about restroom breaks. You can take one during the session with my guidance. Most clients go even deeper when they return.
Can someone come with me?
No. Every session is strictly one-to-one. No partners, family members or friends are present in the room. This protects the privacy of what you share and lets you turn entirely inward.
Can QHHT® be done online?
No. In accordance with Dolores Cannon's original teachings, QHHT® is conducted entirely in person.
Is QHHT® suitable for everyone?
Not always. Following Dolores Cannon's guidelines, and with your wellbeing first, QHHT® is generally not offered to people with severe mental health conditions (such as schizophrenia or personality disorders), people with hearing impairments, or anyone under 16. If any of these apply to you, please mention it when you book.
QHHT® is also not a substitute for medical or psychological care, and it is not a quick fix for an outside situation. It tends to suit people who are curious, self-aware and ready to take ownership of their lives.
What happens after the session?
When the session ends, you are fully awake. Most people feel deeply peaceful and relaxed; some feel energised, and some simply want to rest.
The recording. The hypnosis portion of your session is recorded and given to you. I recommend listening for 10 to 30 minutes a day during the first 21 days. You don't need to listen to it all at once. Regular listening helps you integrate the experience into daily life. Please only listen somewhere safe and quiet, never while driving.
Stay aware. In the days that follow, notice synchronicities, changes in your dreams and small intuitive nudges. Pay attention, too, to the thoughts and feelings that arise while you listen. They are often exactly the insight you need at that moment.
A final word
Relax, and trust your inner wisdom and the process. A QHHT® session is not an ordinary hypnosis appointment. It is a reunion with your true self.
