What If I Can't See Any Images During QHHT®?

Many people come to their first QHHT® (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, by Dolores Cannon) session expecting to see vivid pictures, like a film playing behind their eyes. So when the first moments are quiet, they start to worry: "I can't see anything. Is it working?"

It is working. Here is why.

What does "visualising" actually mean in QHHT®?

At the start of the hypnosis, the practitioner guides you to visualise a scene. But visualising does not mean that a picture appears in front of you like a movie.

It means you can know what something looks like through your imagination. If you are asked to picture your front door, you probably don't "see" it in sharp detail, yet you know its colour, its shape, where the handle is. That knowing is enough.

So if you don't see clear images at the beginning, that is completely normal. There is no need to doubt whether the session is working.

How else can information come through?

When you set aside judgement and doubt, and simply rest your attention on the practitioner's voice and guidance, information begins to come forward naturally.

It does not always arrive as a picture. It may arrive as:

  • A thought that suddenly appears in your mind;

  • A feeling in your body or your heart;

  • A sense of knowing, without being sure how you know.

What should I do when something comes up?

Say the first thing that comes to you, even if it seems small, random or unlikely.

This is one of the most important things Lili Ou shares with clients. The first response is usually the one from the subconscious. The thinking mind tends to arrive a moment later, with its doubts and corrections. If you speak that first thought, and then the next, a narrative gradually takes shape.

Can a QHHT® session be unsuccessful?

In Lili Ou's experience, no QHHT® session is unsuccessful. What comes forward may look different from what you expected. It may come as feelings rather than pictures, or quietly rather than dramatically. But the subconscious always brings forward what is most relevant to you at that moment.

If you would like to understand more about the state you are in during a session, you may find The Theta State: What Happens in Your Mind During QHHT® helpful.

In short

  • Visualising means knowing through imagination, not watching a film.

  • No clear images at the start is normal.

  • Information may come as a thought, a feeling or a sense of knowing.

  • Say the first thing that comes to you, and let the story build.
