How to Write Your Questions for a QHHT® Session
Updated: Oct 7
Your list of questions is one of the few things you bring to a QHHT® (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, by Dolores Cannon) session. How you phrase them makes a real difference to what you receive.
Here is the guidance Lili Ou shares with clients.
How many questions should I bring?
Fewer than you might think. Lili Ou usually reminds clients that 5 questions or fewer is enough.
Here is why. When you start to condense your list, you often discover that many of your questions are really asking about the same thing, just from different angles. Distilling them brings you closer to what you truly want to understand, and allows each question to be explored more deeply.
Bring a written copy on the day. Towards the end of the interview, before the hypnosis begins, Lili Ou helps you organise your questions, and may suggest adding one or two that emerged from your conversation.
What kind of questions work best?
Ask "why" questions. Why does this pattern keep appearing in my life? Why did this experience happen?
Ask for the takeaway. What is this experience teaching me? What am I meant to learn from it?
These questions invite understanding. They open the door to the wisdom behind your experiences.
What kind of questions should I avoid?
Avoid "how" questions. "How do I fix this?" asks for a set of instructions.
Avoid "when" questions. "When will this happen?" asks for a date.
Where possible, avoid questions about the future. "What will happen next year?" asks for a prediction.
Why do "why" questions work better?
From the perspective of the subconscious, your highest good is not to receive a ready-made SOP to copy, or to be handed the answer in advance. It is to draw wisdom from your own life experience.
A "how" or "when" question asks the subconscious to do the living for you. A "why" question asks it to help you understand, so that you can live the next chapter with more clarity. The first gives you a shortcut. The second gives you something that stays with you.
Examples: rewriting your questions
"How can I make more money?" becomes: "What is my relationship with money teaching me?"
"When will I meet the right partner?" becomes: "Why do I keep finding myself in the same kind of relationship?"
"Should I leave my job?" becomes: "What is holding me back from making a clear decision about my career?"
"What will happen to my business next year?" becomes: "What has building this business taught me, and what is it asking of me now?"
Notice that each rewritten question is about you, not about other people or outside events.
What if my question isn't answered on the day?
This is one of the most interesting parts of QHHT®.
Some questions, even when asked, are not answered directly in the session. When the timing is not yet right, the subconscious does not give the answer head-on. Instead, the answer unfolds gradually in daily life, through experiences, conversations and moments of recognition in the weeks, months or even years that follow.
In the QHHT® session, you are connected with your subconscious. Asking the question is like planting a seed. Receiving the answer is only a matter of time.
This is also why QHHT® suits people who are patient. If you need every answer on the day, the process may feel frustrating. If you can trust that the answer will come when you are ready for it, the session keeps giving long after it ends.
In short
Bring 5 questions or fewer, written down. Many questions turn out to be asking the same thing.
Ask "why" and ask for the takeaway.
Avoid "how", "when" and questions about the future.
Make the questions about you.
Trust that some answers will arrive later, in their own time.
